Although certainly never as confusing as Windows, SCO had enough licensing models to sometimes be confusing. At one pont they even had a free, single user system - but that was long after Linux appeared.
Had they offered that free version earlier, Linux might never have existed - Linux Torvalds said he just wanted a Unix system but could not afford it.
Good thing for us that SCO was greedy..

jumping in to clarify... It's not that it can't be done, it's that you don't have that type of license. You don't have a regular stand-alone enterprise licence, you have a desktop license, and a desktop-enterprise upgrade license. If you enter the desktop-enterprise upgrade license at the first install prompt, it will correctly deny you from performing a full fresh enterprise install with only an upgrade license, which costs a lot less than a full new license. otherwise we could all by cheap upgrades only and get full installs with them. :) So in your case you must follow the path of your licenses. install desktop, then upgrade to enterprise. -- Brian K. Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.
Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
