It's very unlikely that there is a /usr filesystem if that's even what 
you meant.

Not sure what you are reading but I bet you are thinking that you have / 
and /usr filesystems and that you could reinstall without touching /usr. 
  That's NOT going to happen.  Normal SCO installs would never have /usr 
as a separate fs and in fact you have to work pretty hard to make that 
happpen at all.

As Bela said, you probably don't need to do this at all.. see for

But if you did, licensing has nothing to do with it and registration is 
a completely optional step that has nothing to do with operability.
