I don't know what to make of that; you might > need help from HP Support to untangle this. Further digging in our bug database makes it look like the problem may have been in "cpqw" itself; and HP's notes seem to indicate that this driver disappeared after EFS 4.48a, so I don't see how it can have been fixed in 5.54a. One customer who was having the problem fixed it by simply turning off some Compaq (HP) EFS drivers he wasn't using. In that case the drivers he turned off were: cled cpqw crom csmu. You would of course have to determine which of those you are beneficially using, and keep them. The evidence I have does not make it clear which of the four drivers caused the problem -- it could have been any one or any combination up to all four. As I said, there were hints that it was "cpqw", but only hints. So you might start by turning that one off. >Bela<

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
