The disaster recovery / replication issue lies in 5.0.7. SCO has been working hard to provide a patch for this issue and we've worked with them to test it. It is called OSS656B and I would consider it a mandatory install on every 5.0.7 system installed. Note that this will replace OSS656A which is not the right patch for this issue. SCO has assured me that it should will be placed on their ftp site within a very short period of time. After installing OSS656B, the next system backup will be OK for disaster recovery or site replication. There is no need to regenerate your RecoverEDGE or other DR media. Note for BackupEDGE users. ========================== BackupEDGE SS release 01.02.04 is the first release that supports OSR 5.0.7. Users that have done an in-place update of a previous release of OpenServer may not be aware of this. You'll need to update to 01.02.04 (or later if you are searching news at a later date) and regenerate your RecoverEDGE media to protect your systems properly. -- Best Regards, Tom --- D. Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
