When you mount the filesystem read-only, how much free space does it
show?  Maybe the filesystem is in fact full.

Why would a full filesystem block mounting?  Well, normally during mount
of an HTFS filesystem, a file /.ilog0000 is created.  It takes up about
10K.  Of course, normally that file already exists.  But maybe it was
destroyed by whatever caused this problem in the first place.

Also, on OSR506 and later, a 32K file named /.slog0000 is created.  Your
subject line says it's 505, but maybe you were wrong.

If read-only mount works and shows less than 42K free, what do you do
about it?  Try mounting with "-o nolog":

  mount -o nolog /dev/isap_db /isap_db

Then free up some space by deleting files.  Then unmount and remount it,
see if it's more cooperative...
